Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that Brandon Lee in the cover? WTF. See the stills from the opening credits? That’s Mark Dacascos. He’s the lead in this, not Brandon Lee. I mean, yeah, it’s a pretty bad series, but some of us still want to buy it without tricks. I already have enough copies of the original movie. (Well, not a blu-ray, so I might have to buy it again at some point in the future…)
Anyway, speedy delivery; I ordered it on Thursday evening and it got here today, so it took less than a week. It was through some seller on amazon.co.uk, cost less than £14 with postage, presumably because it’s an R1 import and not an R2 version. I didn’t think that it would have subtitles, but there is something called closed captions, which functions kind of funnily, but functions, so I can watch it with English subs, if I want to. That’s really good because I tend to do other things while I watch things on my own and if I watch them with friends, the noise level can get kind of loud at times, so subtitles make it easier to focus on what’s going on. Besides, I’m Finnish, so I grew up watching things with subtitles. The original The Crow movie was the first I watched without any subs (I bought an unsubbed VHS of it from somewhere) and I had Johnny Mnemonic on VHS with Swedish subs, so that was practically without subs, too, because my Swedish is pretty bad.
Anyway, I’ve been hunting for this series on DVD for a while now, so it’ll be fun to watch it again. At least to see Mark Dacascos’ fight scenes and Ty Olsson. :D I haven’t seen this since it was shown on tv over 10 years ago.
